Draft Pick Value Simulator

Note: This is a beta release. It should work fine but if you have and problems send a note to the feedback e-mail at the top of this page.

The Draft Pick Value Simulator allows you to see the types of players a team could select with their draft picks. You can specify a round, or a specific range and the simulator will randomly select a player taken in the 2007 to 2018 NHL drafts within the spectified round or custom range.

For Example, if a team has a first round pick that is likely to be in the 20's overall, a secound round pick likely to be in the second half of the second round plus a 3rd, 5th and 6th round picks you might enter:

When you run the simulator it will return 5 random players, one drafted between 20th and 29th overall, one drafted between 52nd and 64th overall, one from the 3rd round, one from the fifth round and one from the seventh round from the pool of players drafted in the 2007 to 2018 NHL draft. I am limiting the players to these drafts as they are recent enough that most people will be familiar with them, many still playing, but long enough ago that we have a real good view of the player that have become. Some of the players returned will not have played an NHL game in their career, some will be superstars. You never know what you will get.

A use case for this is to get an idea of the kinds of players that a team could expect to draft with their set of draft picks, or the kinds of players a team could expect to draft from the draft picks they received in a trade.
